Authenticity is not about standing out necessarily. It has more to do with building trust with your customers and how, when and where your brand shows up. So how can you build an authentic brand on social media? Read on to find out more.
This chart highlights 3 key elements for building authenticity in your brand: Brand Design, Brand Voice and Brand Trust.

Design
Your design elements such as your brand colors, chosen fonts and imagery need to be consisted. Design elements build the face of a brand and also assist in building trust with your customers. How? Well it builds trust, you aren't two faced, you have one face wherever your brand shows up.
Voice
Your voice needs to be identifiable by the audience you want to reach, regardless of who or what is trending. The words you use, language and tone of voice need to truthfully represent your brand. The worst thing in my opinion is when a brand try to relate, outside of who they are; its just plain awkward. There will always be ears who resonate with your brand, so be authentic and be you!
So, no, you do not have to post or target all demographics, movements and trends. That's not being authentic. We have all witnessed brands jump on a trending political movement and then swiftly move on once it is no longer trending. This leads me to the next aspect of authenticity: trust.
Tip: If you are using AI to help you write captions or copy, take the time to change it up a little to match your brand voice. Copy and pasting can be seen a mile away!
Trust
Trust and authenticity go hand in hand. When your brand says what it is going to do, when it is supposed to do it or admits its mistakes when made, this builds trust. This is where a solid, clear social media marketing strategy comes in. When you have a plan as to what to post, when to post and who to speak to, your brand is operating authentically.
